Who can obtain a burn permit?

Only residents living in approved areas. They are conditional and can be revoked at any time. If you are a tenant, you must obtain permission from the property owner.

How do you obtain a burning permit?

Apply online for a permit or in person at Fire Station 1 - Lyn during regular business hours. Identification is required and your signature must be given in order for the permit to be issued.

Is there a fee?

No, burn permits are currently free.

What can I burn and how?

Please burn only wood products, wood by-products or leaves. There shall be a means of extinguishing the fire at all times during the fire.

What will the consequences be for burning without a permit or in contravention of the By-law?

This could result in a fine and/or additional costs associated with services rendered.
